Three Days at re:publica 2026

Berlin delivered. Three days at re:publica 2026, and quantum was very much in the room.

Supported by the BMFTR, QVLS was part of the joint stand of 21 initiatives at stand M2 at STATION Berlin. At our stand, we presented two concrete examples of what quantum technology looks like in practice today: ion trap technology for quantum computing and quantum magnetometry for battery research, the latter developed within the QBattIO project of #clusters4future QVLS-iLabs.

The centrepiece of our programme was Tuesday's main stage slot, where Prof. Dr. Peter Krüger from Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, PTB represented QVLS alongside 11 speakers from across Germany's innovation ecosystems. Sharing the stage, Dr. Alexandra-Gwyn Paetz, Head of Department for Technological Sovereignty and Innovation at BMFTR, outlined the vision behind the Hightech-Agenda Deutschland: scaling and commercialising research through strong innovation ecosystems to build value creation "Made in Germany." We are proud to be one of those ecosystems and to be actively helping shape what that next chapter looks like.

A big thank you to the re:publica team for a wonderful festival. And to the QVLS team on the ground: Christian Brandel from hannoverimpuls GmbH, Dr. Lena Bittermann, Dr. Larissa Braun and Dr. Anne Fabricant from PTB, and Anastasiia Sidorova from QUDORA Technologies.

It was wonderful to share the stage and stand with our fellow initiatives with the common theme of "Innovations-Maschinenraum Deutschland": MCube - Munich Cluster for the future of Mobility in Metropolitan Regions, Research Campus Mobility2Grid, nanodiag BW, Biorn Group Cyber, SEMECO Cluster, ARENA2036, PROXIDRUGS – Cluster4Future, QSENS, Ocean Technology Campus Rostock, SaxoCell Cluster, SupplHyInno Rhineland - the Hydrogen Clusters4Future, NeuroSys Cluster, curATime Cluster for Future, BioM Biotech Cluster Development GmbH, Cluster Electric Mobility South-West c/o e-mobil BW GmbH, Etos, OHLF - Open Hybrid LabFactory, ThWIC Thüringer Wasser-Innovationscluster, CNATM - Cluster for Nucleic Acid Therapeutics Munich and Research Campus: Flexible Electrical Networks FEN.

Quantum is never gonna let you down ;) See you at the next one!
