Quantum Valley Lower Saxony (QVLS) congratulates its member Classiq on Intel’s announced agreement to acquire the quantum software company. The deal, reported by CTech to be worth US$2.3 billion, marks a major milestone for the quantum computing industry and highlights the growing strategic importance of quantum technologies.
At a reported US$2.3 billion, the deal would become the largest acquisition of a quantum computing company to date, surpassing IonQ’s acquisition of Oxford Ionics, valued at approximately US$1.075 billion in 2025.
To hear firsthand about this remarkable journey from Regev Yativ, CRO of Classiq, join us for our panel discussion, “Capitalizing on Quantum Research Excellence in Germany,” at the Falling Walls Summit 2026, on November 7 at 4 p.m.
Joining the discussion are State Secretary Jungk (BMFTR), sharing insights into Germany’s quantum strategy; Henning Hahn, Co-Founder and COO of QUDORA Technologies, bringing the perspective of a German quantum startup; David Reichmuth (Munich Quantum Valley), highlighting the role of ecosystems in technology transfer; and Paolo Bianco (Forschungszentrum Jülich), exploring the path from research excellence to commercialization.
The panel will be moderated by Nazanin Pourmalek (Quantum Valley Lower Saxony), connecting perspectives from policy, industry, and science to explore how regional ecosystems and global players can jointly accelerate quantum innovation.
The planned acquisition would combine Classiq’s quantum software platform with Intel’s expertise in quantum hardware and semiconductor manufacturing, with the aim of advancing a full-stack quantum computing platform.
For QVLS, this announcement is also an opportunity to celebrate the progress of a valued member of our network. We look forward to further strengthening our collaboration, exchanging expertise and learning from one another. Close connections between research, technology development and industry are essential to advancing quantum technologies, and a strong ecosystem creates opportunities for everyone involved.
