QVLS Winter School 2027

From 8 to 12 February 2027, the QVLS Winter School will bring together early-career researchers from Germany and beyond for an intensive programme exploring the foundations and latest developments in quantum computing and quantum logic with trapped ions.

Across five days, participants will engage with a combination of in-depth lectures, practical insights and opportunities for discussion. The programme will cover key topics in trapped-ion quantum technologies, including ion-trap physics, quantum gates and algorithms, error correction and quantum simulation, offering perspectives spanning theory, experiment and applications.

Alongside the academic programme, the Winter School will provide opportunities for exchange and collaboration, connecting emerging researchers with experts and peers from across the quantum community. Visits and additional activities will offer insights into current research and the wider quantum technology ecosystem in Lower Saxony.

As an annual event, the QVLS Winter School supports knowledge exchange and strengthens connections between emerging talent, research and application and contributing to the development of the quantum ecosystem in Lower Saxony.
