Standards matter for quantum technologies and the people shaping them

Standards matter, both for quantum technologies and for the people who develop, use and shape them. While technical standards enable interoperability, competence frameworks create a common language for skills and qualifications.

At the Quantum Symposium of the 90th IEC General Meeting in Hamburg, Dr. Franziska Greinert from QVLS will bring the official EU reference framework into focus: the European Competence Framework for Quantum Technologies (CFQT).

Franziska will present the framework as part of a programme that brings together leading voices from across the field. The symposium opens with a keynote from Nobel Prize winner Klaus von Klitzing, followed by Thomas Rosteck, Chief Security Advisor at Infineon Technologies, before moving into discussions on standards and benchmarking, infrastructure and security.

The CFQT provides a common reference for the skills and competencies needed in quantum technology and is an important basis for developing and recognising training and qualification pathways in the field.

The Quantum Symposium takes place on 19 November in Hamburg and is open to the public. Participation is free with registration.
